American Football Official's Penalty/Signal Reference Card illustrations 2010 - This project was fun and very interesting. The challenge was to create a "character" (the official) in a style that was easy to interpret rapidly at a small size, make him fairly generic as far as age/ethnicity and then pose him in 46 different positions. We even built in a few ink traps around some of the potential heavy imprint areas for print production. All of this was achieved with great input from the client, whom also created a very concise layout that really works for reference at a glance. The project seems to have worked out well for Williams Penalty Card and will help answer any questions we might have about calls made during the upcoming football season without having to look at an outdated bazzillion generation version!
